Hans Rosling's 200 Countries, 200 Years, 4 Minutes - The Joy of Stats

This is a very cool visualization of the change in health and wealth over the past 200 years for more than 200 countries condensed into 4 minutes. What is striking is how major events can be seen impacting the numbers and how advances spread across the globe. Well worth the time to watch.

California Bar - Success!

My wife has passed the California bar exam! I'm so very proud of her. Everyone at her law firm was happy to hear the news and I am sure they will waste little time putting her to work. At last, we can really begin to settle in. Way to go, Mary!

China Hijacked 15% of US Internet Traffic

Wow. Between this and the flash crash that happened last May, I'm going to need to order a bigger tinfoil hat. Apparently, a Chinese telecomm company re-routed traffic from several major US sites, including ones in the .gov and .mil TLDs, for about 18 minutes last April. What happened to that data? No one knows. And just to make this even more alarming, they probably could do it again any time they want. Scary.
